As has become tradition, we did our local hometown July 4 celebration. The day started with the 5K Run for the Pies. This year Kyle joined mommy to tackle her first 5K meeting our goal. She did fantastic and even met a new friend along the route. This was followed by the kiddie parade where pounds of candy were distributed. Jack chose to stay in his seat and accept candy. Next up was the traditional parade filled with horses, classic cars, tractors and even a spider float.
After the parade, we went to a neighbor's house for BBQ, trampolines, and climbing trees. Jack visited the local bar for some ice cream and music. After a successful bonfire, we headed down to the park for nightly fireworks. It was pretty glorious and exactly what we want July 4 to be.
