All in a Day's Play

Since Dad was off fishing in Alaska, the kids took the opportunity to have a fun day with mom.  This meant two new playgrounds, a splash park, cookies, and finish with ice cream.  It's pretty much a given that we all slept well that night. 

Time Away from Home

This past week, Kyle took off for Iowa with Grammi and Grampi to go to camp and spend time with her cousin.  It's clear from the few pictures we received and limited calls, she had an amazing time.  The two girls broke into mom's boxes of Barbies and had quite the house set up.  They took boat rides, visited the amusement park and ate Nutty Bars.  Grampi was talked into a swim mat, which became an instant favorite with Kyle taking her first jump off the dock.  On top of all this, she had another great week at camp!

As for Jack, he had solitary time with his parents and an exciting night at Grandma's with another cousin.  There was swimming, playing trucks, pancakes and endless fun. 

Us parents missed the kids but did not mind the quiet for a bit.

The 4th lived up to the hype even better this year. There were parades, hot dogs, friends and fireworks! Kyle again showered everyone in candy, while Jack chose to be a recipient. This was followed by tons of friends over for BBQ and hide-and-seek. The night was capped with music and fireworks at the local park. It was everything the 4th is meant to be!

Slipping n Sliding

In a kickback to our youth, we broked out a slip n' slide to tackle the continued sun and heat.  Good times were had by all including the parents.  Jack needed a little work to figure out the process, but once he did, all was good.
