Throwback Sleds and Quick Hills

When we woke up to snow, the kids had one wish to build a snowman.  Unfortunately our icy snow was not too great for packing.  It was perfect for making our hills into a speedzone.  There was lots of smiles and shouts as we flew down the hill, making sure to not go off the retaining wall.  Jack must enjoyed not having to make the trek back up, only to be delighted when we flew down again.

From One Year to the Next

We ended 2016 with a few outdoor chores and some beautiful weather.

2017 greeted us with fresh snow and frigid temperatures.  It was perfect for some river exploring!

Holiday Extravaganza

It was a glorious holiday weekend.  On December 23, a light dusting of snow graced us.   With high hopes it would last two days, it washed away on Christmas Eve.  However, there was still opportunity to gather with all our family and loved ones to enjoy good food, conversation, and opening of presents.  Jack was blown away with his trucks and trains.  Kyle was thrilled with craft items, a fairy garden, and a massive mermaid tail.  It was pretty much perfect.  Added bonus was their first motorcycle, which was a highlight for their father.

To add to the merriment, Grammi and Grampi were in town for several days.  They assisted with lego building and picture searches.  One final stop was a trip to the local zoo to feed the reindeer and watch the tigers.  This was definitely a good one!
