Trains, Trucks, Trails and Turned Up Fun

We visited our local farm/amusement park for our annual trip with friends this year.  Typically we pick a drizzly day with limited people.  This year the weather held off and that brought out just about everyone.  However, friends made it all the better.

There were canoe rides, roller coasters, cookies, trains, animals and lots of smiles.  Plus a massive hay field to jump in that kept a certain someone occupied for what would have likely been hours. It was perfect and a blast with two tired kids soon after.  The only bummer is Kyle is starting to get a tad too tall for the fun...guess we will be looking for a few new adventures next year.

Farm Filled Fun

As the leaves start to change, the Valley picks up with harvest and farm fun.  We visited Jubilee Farm this weekend with special friends for games, a scavenger hunt, tractor rides, and face painting.  The rain held off, the td was excellent, and laughs were many.  Well, for everyone but mommy, who was recovering from dental surgery.  Next year that will not be planned on the week before one of the best eating events of September.

Dog Days of Summer

Summer in the PNW ended pretty abruptly going from 80 degrees to 60s and rain.  We cherished the last few moments with playgrounds and zoo treks.  Although after standing in line for 65 minutes to feed baby rhinos, it was a tad disappointing when they decided they were no longer hungry.  Just about the time Jack fully recognized why we stood in line and could not be more exciting.  It was still something to see how big they were.

All in our town - School Begins

After nearly three years of driving to a nearby town, Jack and Kyle are both now in local school.  Kyle trekked off to 2nd grade with a little apprehension and ended the day with non-stop chatter.  There are pennies to be earned, stuffed animals to bring home, and dictionaries for everyone.  Jack started the local preschool that has a treehouse, marshmallows, and name signing.  He has been absolutely wiped out each evening and excited to return the next day.

A Thousand Pound Bam and Elephant Ear

Our annual fair trip went up above 20 levels this year when Monster Trucks were added to the mix.  In fact, it was so outstanding Jack ended up puking all over Mom.  His excitement when the first car was crashed was something to be seen.  Plus there were derby races and bus races.  All this was on top of corn dogs, fair rides, animals and tons of annual fair fun.

Capturing the final days

School is just around the corner with Kyle to 2nd and Jack a new preschool. One is beyond excited while the other is most looking forward to lunch. As there are a few dats left with gorgeous temperatures, we have snuck in some fun.  A visit to the zoo including waiting 65 minutes to feed baby rhinos, then have them shun us. New playgrounds with pretend ninja obstacle courses. Lots of ice cream. One bee sting to the inner ear with a massive stomp to take that bee out.
