Who do you Love?

Sometimes it's best to relax and watch the man do his work.

Especially, when that man is Dada.  Yes, folks, Travis is blessed with the joy of hearing his daughter squeal his name any time she sees him.  Mama, on the other hand, just keeps waiting.

Woodland Park Zoo

Kyle received the Little People A-Z zoo for her birthday and loves it.  Several times a day, she will pull the animals out of the bag one by one while we say what the animal is.  She then lines them up.  Therefore, we figured an outing to the real zoo was in store.  Despite being planned several weeks ago, we had no idea it would turn out to be 70 degrees and an absolutely gorgeous day.

Kyle had a blast.  There was lots of pointing and babbling with a few ducks thrown in, although we never saw a single one.  She did say "cat" when we spotted the lion.  I always knew she was a genius, or it might be all large furry things laying around resemble a cat to her.  We can't wait to make another trek and see even more animals.

Look, Dad, a wolf (unfortunately Mom did not get it in the picture).

What's that?

Check out the elephant!

Commanding all the animals to follow her word!

Always happy!

Here Kitty, Kitty

Either someone is getting faster, or our four-legged friend is becoming more tolerant.  The fact she was actually purring while trapped in the corner may say something.  Or Mischief has learned she may get ahead in life by pretending to love the kid.

13 Months Belated

So I'm late on posting for 13 months.  I suspect at some point, I'll move away from monthly posting updates.  However, right now Kyle is changing so much that I want to document all these moments.  Unfortunately this month culminated with Kyle's first real illness.  Our normally happy, sweet little baby wanted nothing more than to snuggle with her parents and sleep.  We did appreciate this moments, but it was hard to see her feeling so ill. Luckily, it did not last long, and she was back to her excited, on-the-go self.  Thank goodness Grampi is always a phone call away with medical advice to calm this worried mama.

Kyle is beginning to engage more and more in play.  She loves pulling items out of anything and then stuffing them back in.  I have found many an object stuffed into her school bus.  She loves looking at the pages of books, but still is not real interested in sitting for the story.  Anything that makes noises, especially songs or animal sounds, is a delight.  When music plays, she'll stand, point her finger, and wiggle up and door.  Similar to her mother, she seems to love the 80s.  This month, Kyle learned to give hugs and it is wonderful.  Although she is very select on her timing.  She has become a bit more clingy, preferring her mama or TerTer (daycare provider) at times, but is still willing to give anyone a smile.

Kyle lost some interest in vegetables this month.  She continues to love cheese and now devours chicken and fish.  She is quite adept at feeding herself, preferring that in all circumstances.  Even better, she is not extremely messy and has yet to throw items on the floor.  Well, except for green beans.  We have yet to attempt a spoon for her, but I see that coming in the near future.

Words continue to grow, and she distinctively knows duck, dog, cat, and dada.  Mama is still just a babble ocassionally thrown in my direction to keep me satisfied.  She also has a new fascination with Woah and yells this any time, she thinks she is going fast.  This still delights me when we are running, and she's sitting in the stroller with her feet in the air, so excited.

Kyle continues to be a delight.  We are so blessed.

Sometimes the best toys are the simplest things!

One Year Photos

Days after moving into our new place, we had a photographer come out to picture Kyle as she moved away from babyhood.  As always, the pictures turned out great!

Hoppy Easter!

This year, Kyle was eager (or at least her mother was) to participate in a few Easter activities.  We went to Snohomish for their Easter parade, which turned out to be a far bigger event that anticipated.  There were bunnies, band, pirates, and lots of Easter bonnets.  Kyle was in awe taking everything in.  We know for next year to get their early and stake out your chairs in the street, or others will start standing in front of you.  It was a great time nonetheless, made even better by beautiful spring weather.  Following the parade, we went to a toddler Easter egg hunt.  Kyle got exactly one egg, and was quite content with that.  Easter morning brought an exciting Easter basket, full of many treats for mommy and daddy.  Next year we might have to cut down on the candy.    It was a wonderful weekend!

Eagerly awaiting the parade.

What's an Easter parade without pirate?

Quietly observing the the Easter egg hunt

Most excited just to be walking in the grass!

Enjoying our bounty!

Thankful for Daddy installing a swing!

Push Me Higher!

Our little adrenaline junkie found yet another fun activity that she loves.  Seattle had a break in the rain this week and 60 degree temperatures.  Therefore, Kyle and I made our first trek to the playground.  She stood hestitantly for quite awhile taking it all in. However, once it was her turn on the swing she was all in with a great big smile on her face and squeals of delight the entire time.  Following her time on the swing, she did not stop running.  There will likely be more park days in our future!

Wow, That's a BIG Moose!

Or in Kyle's case, two moose!  Apparently Kyle's love of stuffed animals is well known. Her father almost bought in her one as well, but then decided against it.  Thank goodness, or she would have got three moose for her birthday.  She loves them though.

A perfect place to spend a rainy day.
