It Rains, It Pours

Following snow and trees down, we have been bombarded by continuous rain.  Living in the Pacific Northwest, you definitely learn to adjust.  There is still ditches to dig, slides to climb, and walks to be had.  However, you also spend time inside.

Around these parts, this means making indoor snowwoman and banging hammers.

When you have to clear the driveway

The aftermath of the storm left a number of trees down, which meant quite the weekend project.  Luckily one little helper was more than happy to be of assistance - especially when that meant singing, dancing and building moss houses.  A moss house - yes, the perfect place for all the critters to stay since they lost the trees.  As for the other helper, he got to climb rocks and visit the river.  It was a supreme weekend indeed.

Power Outages

SuperBowl Sunday brought a great game and a lovely storm to the  PNW.  We awoke Monday morning to nearly a foot of snow, downed trees, and no power.  Power that did not return for nearly 44 hours.  Thank goodness for a generator and wood stove to keep us warm.  Kyle and Jack learned to survive without electronics, but we were all thankful when power was finally restored.  Two days at home with no water was a bit too long.

The snow was beautiful, and just slushy enough for snowman making!!
