Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to read. I'm so thrilled that Kyle's schedule has fallen into place, and I can't once again lose myself in a book. It is my hope that Kyle shares the same passion for words, imagination, and stories that books can bring. This past weekend, we took our first trip to the library to pick up a few books. It looks like she was pretty excited about her selection.

Let Me Help
Someone loves to assist with unloading the dishwasher. Well, actually, removing all the spoons that can be reached. As a result, all forks and knives are now kept near the back. It's funny that every time I open the door, no matter where Kyle might be, she comes crawling as fast as she can. I hope she enjoys the dishwasher this much in the future.

Shaking It!
Kyle's Aunt Amy sweetly gave her a set of maracas for Christmas. Even better, Kyle has learned how to shake them.

Taking Baby for a Stroll
Winter Wonderland
Well after being relatively calm, winter came this weekend. And with it, a rarity in the Seattle area - snow. Kyle was a bit amused by the whole thing stretching her arm out to try to catch the falling flakes. When some got on her tongue, she was not quite as thrilled. Luckily, she was able to escape to the warm indoors where she could spend hours standing at the window watching it come down. By Saturday evening, we had several inches with more expected to fall into the week.
What we woke up to on Saturday morning! Ace was excited for two of his favorite things: baby and snow.
It's still falling!
After quite a bit of running, Ace finally agreed to pose.

Ten Months
It seems like only moments ago I was writing the post for nine months. The days and weeks are just flying by, and every time I turn around, it seems like Kyle is doing something new. This past month was filled with many fun moments from first Christmas to getting to spend a week with Grampi and Grammi. That meant lots of spoiling, sleeping in, going out to breakfast, and total attention focused on one small person. Luckily, she was happy to oblige.
Kyle continues to be her amazingly happy self, even with two top teeth poking through. This did affect a few nights sleep but she conquered that like a champ. She's still inquisitive and interested in every place and everyone. Often she will turn herself completely around in the high chair or cart to see what is happening. She pulls up on everything and has recently begun standing on her own for brief periods of times. It's so cute to see her concentrating on something and not realize she's no longer holding on, then suddenly grab for the nearest table or couch. She loves wrestling and being chased, especially right before bedtime. A new litany of words appearing. "Uh oh" was a solid favorite for about two weeks, and even stated at times when an uh-oh was probably appropriate. Now she's focusing on ma-ma and da-da with her parents debating on who she likes more.
It's hard to believe in only two quick months, Kyle will be turning one. Often I wish I could just package her up right as she is, yet I know exciting things are still to come.

Happy New Year!
As Travis and I entered 2011, we were preparing and waiting with anticipation for the birth of our baby. Kyle has now blessed our lives for nearly 10 months. 2011 could not have been better. We can't wait for all the memories, laughs, and moments that 2012 will bring us. Big things are brewing!
