And try again. After a long week of pink eyes, sore thoats, and colds, we are going full force into next week. Despite all the snuggles, there were moments like this that make you smile. He kept at it for nearly 10 minutes before finally deciding this was not working. Love his determination!

Dreary days...rainy bliss
Winter is here, which means rain and more rain. It's perfect weather for puzzles. Kyle is now rocking 100 pieces with ease.
Although the weather may be dreary, there is still time for outdoor play. Muddy tracks on gravel is the best.

Bringing Home the Roses
Thirty years ago, as the year struck 1986, Iowa played UCLA in the Rose Bowl. The Richards family made the journey in a trip that is still remembered and loved. When it was announced that Iowa would be returning, it was time for a repeat. However, this year there were a few extra attendees and those who were kids years ago were now parents.
For my childhood Rose Bowl, I fell asleep halfway through the game. Too much family fun had worn me out. Kyle, on the other hand, fell asleep on the way to the parade and then not until late that evening. She loved every minute of the spectacle though. There were floats, princesses, bus rides, lots of black and gold and cupcakes. It was a dream. She saw firsthand the spirit of Iowa and its Hawks, which cannot be beat. We might not return again, but this trip was just as memorable as the first.
