Kyle has recently begun working on napping on her crib, in preparation for the day when her Mom might be ready for her to sleep there at night. Luckily, Grampi and Grammi got Mommy an awesome video monitor so she can always peek in on Kyle without disturbing her. The other day, Kyle settled down for a long nap (nearly 3 hours) after a good morning of play. After a nap like that, it's always nice to awake with a smile and a good conversation with a giraffe.

New Friends
Recently Kyle has become extremely excited about several of her toys. While we were shopping for a friend's soon-to-be-baby, Kyle saw a stuffed monkey and could not stop smiling. As you can guess, her mommy had to purchase it. Kyle is absolutely in love with Mr. Monkey. She also has a fondness for Mortimer the Moose. Equally fascinating are these strange objects attached to the end of her legs that wiggle at times. I suspect it will not be long before she is consistently grabbing at her feet. Although these things are all great, Kyle might have a bit of a complex since more than anything, she loves looking at herself. We're not surprised though. That is one cute baby.
It has not been captured on camera yet but we discovered this weekend, Kyle also loves playing in the hammock with her Dad. She let out her first real laugh and followed it with another happy giggle.

Express Yourself
As evident on this blog in the past, Kyle is not one to hide her expressions. Here is a collection of caught faces.

Happy Father's Day!
Kyle wanted to do something special for her Daddy on his first Father's Day. Therefore, she decided to make him foot and hand print ornaments. Mommy was especially pleased since she loves ornaments. Below are a few pics showing the process.
We love the Superman!
What are we doing again?
Still not sure about this.
And we're done.
So glad that's over!
It was all worth it though for one of the best Dads a little girl could have!
So happy she's about to puke on his shirt! However, Daddy takes it well.
We also want to send Father's Day love out to our other favorite Dads!
Grampi Steve - who is willing to wear strange hats to please his granddaughters.

Uncle Chris
Great Grandpa LeRoy

Week with Grandma
For my first day back to work, Grandma Donna volunteered to spend it with Kyle. She did not officially start day care until June 13. Work was a bit of an adjustment for both Mommy and Kyle, but we survived. Kyle was not exactly her normal happy self the first day, but by the end of the week both Kyle and Grandma had hit their stride. They also seemed to be having a ton of fun together.
Below are some pictures showing all the fun they had! Kyle is definitely excited to spend more time with Grandma Donna. Hopefully Grandma Donna had just a good a time as Kyle.
By the end of the day, Kyle was tired. Thanks for the good times Grandma!

Three Months
Wow, Kyle has been with us for three months now. The time is flying. This was a month of many new things. Kyle is getting much better about holding her head up. She loves to lie on your stomach and look up into your face. She is also becoming extremely skilled at swatting things and recently has started reaching out to grab items, especially the Lion on her rocker. In addition to all her play time, she has started listening and paying attention to books. One of her favorites is Moo, Baa, LaLaLa - especially the picture of the cow. It always brings a smile. On top of all this, the whole family is adjusting to the fact Mommy has returned to work. Kyle is taking it in stride, although the first day was a bit off kilter. We we really enjoying our morning time together. Kyle often wakes up really happy, coos, and loves to snuggle. On our last day of maternity leave, it was so cute since she noticed her feet in the morning which had little frog footies. She kept wiggling her foot which made the frog's smile move. Kyle could not help smiling, and so was her Mommy. Luckily she got to spend an awesome week with Grandma with visits from Aunt Stephanie (pics to come). Although we miss her during the day, both Travis and I are thrilled to come home to her smiles in the evening. Which right now is one of her favorite things to do, and ours too.
Why again are you posing me with this pig?
I got it!
It's possible her eyes still might change, but right now they are still bright blue.
Getting so big, soon she might be bigger than the baby blankets.
It's look like we have a red head.
Love those gummy grins!

Things We Love...Right Now
Kyle is becoming much more active and is quite entertaining to watch. Here are a few things Kyle loves at this moment.
Kyle loves spending time on her activity mat. She especially loves giving Mr. Octopus a good smack.
Kyle loves sitting in her Bumbo.
She loves Grammi and was very excited she was able to come visit.
Kyle loves flirting with the toys that attach to her car seat.
However, you have to be careful since every now and then they might attack. This is possibly a reaction to all the good swats she gives them.
More than anything, Kyle is loved by her mommy (who cannot believe maternity leave is nearing an end).
