Who's in Charge here?

Contraptions are apparently developed when Dad is in charge.

While Kyle takes a different approach when offering to help.  Perhaps she is onto something with keeping the baby busy by placing his favorite thing just out of reach (or it's a sign of sibling fun to come).  At least we know he handles it well!

On Top of the Playground

Kyle has become quite efficient at climbing.  Ladders no longer daunt her, and she has even taken on a rock climbing wall or two.  When we are the playground, I find myself amazed at what she tackles.  This does not necessarily lessen my mommy fears.  In addition to climbing, she peddles her big wheel all over the driveway.  I suspect it will not be long before she is on two wheels.

While Kyle conquers mountains, Jack continues doing what he does.  Eating, sleeping, and a bit of chewing to even things out.

YesterTime

Kyle has recently become quite interested in time and relating when things happened.  Each day, she asks me "What is the time?", then goes to set it on her play kitchen clock.  She also asks if something will be in one or five minutes.  When an event occurred in the past, she advises folks it was "yestertime" or "yesteryear."  I'm going to miss hearing that.
Field trip to Reptile Zoo at preschool.

While working in the yard with Daddy, Kyle got really busy.  This is what she was up to.

"I'm going to the doctor to fix my toys!"

TWO Months

Our newborn has definitely grown into an infant these last most couple weeks.  For the most part, Jack is content and quiet.  He loves smiles, but you have to work for them more than Kyle.  He is more of a snuggler though so it evens out.  Jack is also a flirting.  When meeting me new people, he will spend some time observing.  Then the charm comes out full force!  We have realized that Jack is not one to give a lot of warning.  If he's hungry, you better be ready.  He escalates quickly the the point of red face and near sweating.  He settles down quickly as well for which we are thankful.  Right now, it seems Jack loves having his back patted, sleeping on his belly, and being outdoors. .

STATS - Length: 22.91inches (50%); Weight: 13 pounds (81%); Head: 16.06in (71%)

Mr. Jack

Our baby seems to be doubling in size with a touch of personality of coming through.

Wishing America a Happy Birthday!

Kyle was extremely excited for July 4th this year.  Who wouldn't when there are hot dogs, parades, and fireworks involved.  Plus friends visited for the weekend, so Kyle got to play until she pretty much dropped.  By the end of the night on July 4, she was covered and dirt and still smiling.  It was a great holiday all around.  Although there was the incident where she stepped on a slug.
