A new home means a return to various home improvements stores for Travis and I. It's a bit different visiting these locations with a little one in tow.  For Kyle though, going to the store with Dad is far different from any trip with Mom.  He picks the cool cart!

While We Were Away

During our hiatus of homelessness, blog posts were lacking.  However, that does not mean Kyle was not keeping her parents busy.  Here's a few moments from the month of February.

Attended lots of first birthdays, which means party outfits.

Enjoyed some Mexican food - especially refried beans.

Chased fast cars

Found a new love of raspberries.

Got our first official pair of shoes

Visited the aquarium, where we found other people more fascinating than the fish.

Got locked in a cage with Dad.

Partook in the Seattle scenery with Mom.



It could have been worse. 

Work Out

Kyle has been working on pumping up her muscles.  I anticipate she'll be lifting the 20 pound dumbbells in no time. 

ONE

Yesterday, our little baby girl turned One.  Where has the time gone?  It seems like only days ago, Travis and I were at the hospital anxiously awaiting her arrival.  Little did we know, how much Kyle would enrich our lives.  It has been an amazing year of smiles, laughs, learning to play again, and taking those tentative first steps.  Kyle has helped us to take those extra moments to enjoy what is going on around us.  We are so thankful that you have blessed us. 

At one, Kyle is full go.  She spends the majority of time walking with a few stumbles here and there.  She loves to roam with a stuffed animal in her hand checking out her surroundings.  Kyle also recently realized her ability to speed things up a bit and has done a couple runs, but typically brings herself to a sudden halt.  She still loves babies and any thing that can be hugged.  New exciting things include her own personal chair, where she loves to sit.  Books still are a favorite, although she'd rather flip through the pages then sit to read the story.  Kyle doesn't have a ton of recognized words, but we think she may be saying duck.  Plus on her birthday, she said Hi to another little girl.  She'll wave when you're leaving.  Kyle continues to be as happy as can be, with a few bumps in the road for teething.  She smiles and giggles with a passion and full belly laugh.  It's amazing how much she has changed in the last year, but our smiling little girl still remains. 

So, how did we spend the special day.  Well, it appears March 10-11 is a big day for us.  Rather than being in the hospital in 2012, we spent the first night in our new home!  We are finally no longer homeless, although forever grateful to Papa John and Grandma Donna.  There is still a lot to be done, but the toys are unpacked and Kyle is quite happy.  We can't wait for all the memories we will experience at our home in the future.

Even though things were a bit hectic, time was still taking to recognize the special day.  A moment of sunshine allowed us to take a few pictures outside.  Kyle was more than excited to be out and about.  We also took a family photo.

Then it was time for cake.  Kyle was all ready once she saw that delicious treat.  After a slight hesitation, she was already for frosting, which was consumed with a passion.

After a quick prompt to bath, it was time for presents.  Kyle is a luckly little lady who is truly loved.  Interestingly, her favorite gift appeared to be a one dollar bill.  So long as she continues to hold her money, her parents will be thrilled.
