Trick-or-Treat

This year, Kyle chose to be a cat for Halloween.  It was questionable whether she was going to actually wear the costume, but she rallied for the event.  Pleasantly, she just took one piece of candy and worked on thanking everyone.  It was clear by the end of our trek, someone's pumpkin was getting heavy.  Now her parents just need to hide all those treats!

Home in the Heartland

Since daycare was closed, Kyle and I made the decision for a little adventure and headed to Grampi and Grammi's house for fun and relaxation.  Fun was largely for Kyle who got endless swing time, golfing lessons, lots of soccer games, a few tickle monsters, tons of rubber duckies, and baths in the BIG tub.  However, the highlight was heading out to Great Grandad's farm to drive the combine and tractor.  There was definitely a huge smile on a very lucky little girl's face.  While Kyle was busy playing, her mama got to enjoy a few extra naps and moments for herself.  It was a glorious trip, and even with two plane delays, Kyle was a trooper.  She even made her mama cry with an interpretive dance in the MSP airport.  Sometimes you just need to listen to the music!

It wouldn't be a trip to the pumpkin patch...

without a meltdown.  In fact, this year, the decision was made to forego getting a pumpkin all together because a certain little person was absolutely done.  Luckily, we were not far from home to have a nice, long nap and recuperate before several friends came to play.  This is not to say that we did not have many fun moments while there - enough that we definitely will make the trek again this year.  In fact, mama is considering going back next weekend to get that special pumpkin.

Animal House

The Fall season has set in here, and with it, comes dreary days.  Kyle and I took advantage of the early morning mist one day and made a much anticipated day to the zoo.  It was a perfect NW morning, and we got to get close and personal with many animals.  We danced with a penguin, roared at a bear, smiled with a gorilla, and stomped with an elephant.  Even more exciting in a toddler's world was the abundance of animal statutes for climbing.  It was a great morning all around.
