It's wildfire season in the PNW, which has greatly limited our time outdoors. In those rare moments of relief, we have taken advantage. Trips to the park have led to zip-lines and great climbing apparatus. Kyle also got to go a ninja warrior birthday party and use some balancing skills. Plus she realized wall climbing was pretty great too.

Going Home Again
The shore of East Lake Okoboji has always held the most special place for me. Four generations of my family have sat on the dock and enjoyed life. It brings the greatest joy that now my kids are also considering this place a second home. It's hard to beat when there is ice cream, tubing, fire trucks, treasure hunts, miniature golf, camps and amusement rides. This year had an added bonus as Uncle Chris and Rhapsody spent the time with us all well.

Vintage Tractors and Fun Abound
The heat has slowly creeped up here to temperatures the PNW is not accustomed, but will likely become the new norm. We have worked to stay cool while still having some fun. There have been tractor rides, coloring, climbing apparatus and other fun adventures. All this with plenty of ice cream and river walks thrown in creates two fulfilled and tired kiddos.

Camp Life - Summer in Full Swing
With the summer comes new schedules, and the opportunity for Kyle to go to summer camp. This year we found a day camp just across the river from town. It was an epic two weeks full of everything a childhood summer should hold. There was dirtboarding, slingshots, archery, lots of swimming, extra treats, and tons of new friends. It's pretty amazing to pick up your child every day after 10 hours of camp, and she is already excited for tomorrow. Jack cannot wait until he can join her next year.
