Seven Months

Kyle is now officially closer to being one year old than a newborn.  I'm not sure I'm ready to handle that.  Yet at the same time, this past month has been full of new experiences and astonishment.  Kyle no longer wobbles when she sits.  She'll reach out to grasp things, stretching as far as she can then bounce back up.  As a sign to her many talents and smarts, she also realizes to pull a blanket or other item if she wants something at the other end.  In addition to sitting, she is definitely no longer staying in one place.  Kyle may not be on all fours yet but she can army crawl with the best of them, spending time going from one side of the room to the other.  She is definitely an explorer going up to bang a door handle or pull at a rug.  She's eating all kinds of veggies and fruits, although mango is definitely not a favorite.  In the past couple weeks, she has started to show a greater interest in what we are eating although she still always gives a yuck face with the first bite.

Smiling continues with big gummy grins, no teeth yet.  She laughs at funny noises with a sweet belly chuckle.  Even when fussy, she'll always stop to return a smile.  Yet she has a serious side, taking in her surroundings with a deep concentration.

Her greatest love is now the remote.  She'll do anything in her power to get it and then relish in pushing all the buttons.  Other favorites include a colorful lady bug and a cuddly sheep.  Recently she began sitting in the bath which meant introduction to the wonder of bath toys.  This quickly turned into a full face in the water as she tried to grab them all.  She recovered quickly though and came up smiling.  We might just have a swimmer on our hands, which I suspect her cousin will appreciate.  Time outside is still a favorite which is quickly dwindling as the fall weather kicks in.  Luckily I have prepared a lovely fall and winter wardrobe.  Glow Worm still sings her to sleep, and this proud mommy must say she is an awesome sleeper.

You are still our greatest treasure.  I love seeing your big happy grin as I pick you up from daycare each day and you welcome home your daddy.

Sitting so proud!
The shirt sums it up.
Coming to get you!
Hold onto your remotes, folks!
